Fourteen students from William Floyd Middle School were recently featured in the Town of Brookhaven's Red Ribbon Week art gallery. The artwork, created by students from Stephanie Taisler’s Art Portfolio class, centered around the theme "Living Your Best Life Drug Free!" and was part of a national drug prevention campaign.

The students recognized for their contributions include Ava Asendorf, Mia Cartelami, Willow De Armitt, Hailey Gonzalez, Elijah Lamb, Alwin Leiva, Isabella LaBanca, Isabella Maurer, Kayleigh Rose Moore, Tyler Muniz, Toby Nicosia, Camille Obi, Johhan Reyes, and Denise Zhunio-Villacis.

Red Ribbon Week is an annual event dedicated to promoting drug prevention across the nation. It takes place every year from October 23 to October 31. As part of this initiative, the Brookhaven Youth Bureau invites Long Island students in grades seven through twelve to participate in the “Brookhaven’s Got Talent” student art show by submitting photos, paintings, or drawings.

The selected pieces were displayed at Brookhaven Town Hall throughout October. Additional images from the exhibit are available in an album provided by the organizers.
