Chi-Yong Won Executive Assistant to the VP for Equity & Inclusion (CDO) and the VP for Educational & Institutional Effectiveness | Stony Brook University
Members of the Stony Brook University community are encouraged to share their thoughts on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) as part of a new video series. The initiative was inspired by Maria Medin-Doce, a graduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Hispanic Languages and Literature. Medin-Doce is currently an IDEA graduate working with CAS Communications.
The video series seeks to showcase diverse perspectives that contribute to Stony Brook's cultural richness. It aims to foster open dialogue among students, faculty, and staff while encouraging reflection on individual roles in promoting inclusivity and equity.
Participants are invited to express their views through one word or a brief description. These videos will be distributed across social media channels and digital platforms as engaging content for the university community.
The "What’s Your IDEA" initiative is presented by the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives (DI3), and the School of Communication and Journalism. It launched earlier this fall.
For more information on participation or to view initial videos in the series, visit the IDEA webpage.
