The Brookhaven Town Board recently acknowledged the Red Knights Motorcycle Club New York Chapter 26 for their role in co-sponsoring the annual Teddy Bear Run. This event aims to collect new teddy bears for children in need within Brookhaven Town. The latest run commenced at noon and concluded with a lunch at Painters’ Restaurant in Brookhaven hamlet, where participants gathered, and the first 100 riders received complimentary t-shirts. The Teddy Bear Run 2024 successfully collected nearly 500 teddy bears.

The initiative is part of the Town of Brookhaven's INTERFACE program, which provides various goods and services to those in need through volunteer efforts and donations from partners. The town expressed gratitude towards volunteers and residents who contribute to these causes. More details can be found on the town's website.

Present at the event were several town officials including Town Clerk Kevin LaValle, Councilman Neil Manzella, Councilwoman Jane Bonner, Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich, Supervisor Dan Panico, Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig, Councilman Neil Foley, and Councilman Michael Loguercio. Members of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club were also present.
