The Charles B. Wang Center has announced its spring season lineup, featuring a variety of exhibitions, workshops, and events that highlight Asian art, culture, and community. The season focuses on themes of renewal, creativity, and connection.
A key event is the exhibition "Cycles of Clay: The Ceramic Narratives of Sunkoo Yuh," which will be open from March 7 to May 24 in the Skylight Gallery. This exhibition presents the intricate ceramic works of Sunkoo Yuh, exploring themes such as life, death, and rebirth.
On April 27, the Wang Center will host its annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Attendees are encouraged to dress in comic or anime costumes to celebrate the arrival of spring with music and dance.
OiYan Poon will lead an Asian American and Pacific Islander Celebration on April 3. This event honors the diverse cultures and storytelling traditions within these communities.
The film series this season offers four films that delve into Asian culture. Additionally, workshops on Japanese flower arrangements and bonsai cultivation provide participants with creative opportunities to engage with nature.
Jinyoung A. Jin, director of Asian art and culture at the Wang Center stated: “Whether you’re drawn to the storytelling power of ceramics, the joy of cultural festivals, or the artistry of ikebana, this spring season promises something special for everyone.” Jin added: “Mark your calendars, bring your friends, and join us in celebrating the beauty and diversity of Asian culture.
