The Stony Brook University cheerleading and dance teams, along with mascot Wolfie, are set to compete in the 2025 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team Championships. This prestigious collegiate event will take place from January 17-19 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

The SBU dance team is composed of 16 athletes, primarily underclassmen, with one senior returning for a fourth year. The team includes members who have been recognized on honor societies and the dean's list. Recently, they participated in the Long Island Dance Team Association (LIDTA) competition at Nassau Community College on January 11, where they secured second place overall in the Pom category.

Apart from supporting SBU football and basketball games from the sidelines, the Stony Brook cheerleading team competes annually at the UCA nationals in both DI All Girl Game Day and Traditional categories.

Additionally, Wolfie will participate in the UCA/UDA event aiming for the best mascot title.
