Thousands attended the sixth annual Port Jefferson Ice Festival on January 25 and 26, organized by the Port Jefferson Business Improvement District. Among the highlights were ice sculptures representing Stony Brook Medicine and Stony Brook University, displayed prominently at the intersection of West Broadway and Main Street in Port Jefferson Village.

The sculptures, featuring a penguin and bear for Stony Brook Medicine and Wolfie for Stony Brook University, were part of over 30 creations by Rich Daly. Daly owns Ice Memories in Mastic Beach, NY, and is an award-winning sculptor with more than 200 competition titles. His accolades include ten Gold Medals from the U.S. National Ice Carving Championships, along with a Guinness World Record for crafting 60 sculptures in under three hours.

Festival attendees also enjoyed various activities such as live ice carving demonstrations, ice corn hole, marshmallow roasting, hot chocolate stands, mini-golf on ice, skating demos, tractor rides, karaoke sessions, interactive games, and live performances.
