William Floyd High School juniors Jackson Seifert and Colin Smith have been recognized with All-Eastern honors by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). This recognition is one of the highest distinctions a high school musician can achieve in the United States.
The selection process for All-Eastern honorees is highly competitive, drawing from top high school musicians across 11 states, Washington D.C., and Europe, including Department of Defense schools. Seifert and Smith will join their peers in Hartford, Connecticut, from April 24-27 to perform together.
The William Floyd School District expressed pride in both students for their accomplishments. "The William Floyd School District is so proud of both Jackson and Colin for their incredible work and achievements," a statement read.
NAfME is one of the largest arts education organizations globally. It supports music educators at all teaching levels and provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators. The association's Eastern Region includes several northeastern states along with Europe.
