Stony Brook Medicine, in collaboration with the Southampton Hospital Association and the Southampton Hospital Foundation, has announced the upcoming opening of the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department. This development follows a ribbon-cutting ceremony that took place on April 5, celebrating the addition of this new healthcare facility.
Situated at 400 Pantigo Place in East Hampton, the facility is an extension of the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Emergency Department. As one of the few free-standing emergency departments in New York State, the center is poised to provide crucial medical services to the communities of East Hampton, Amagansett, Montauk, Sag Harbor, and Springs.
"The much-needed Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department will open in late spring and receive patients," a statement confirmed. The 22,000-square-foot emergency department is designed to offer round-the-clock services, operating every day of the year including holidays.
Equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic technology, the facility boasts a dedicated resuscitation room, cardiac monitoring in each exam room, and specialized treatment areas for various patient needs. Additionally, it includes a comprehensive imaging center with machines such as MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, and X-ray. An on-site ambulance will provide transport to hospitals when needed.
In alignment with eco-friendly initiatives, the emergency department features rooftop solar panels, a rain-catch garden, and native plantings aimed at reducing its environmental footprint.
