Nick LaLota, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 1st District since 2023, has been active on social media discussing various political topics. On March 5, 2025, he shared his thoughts on tax policies and trade tariffs through a series of tweets.

In a tweet posted at 03:00:15 UTC, Congressman LaLota advocated for tax reforms by expressing support for specific measures. He stated, "A higher SALT cap, keeping the AMT fix, and keeping the lower individual rates for the middle class. Let’s get it done!"

Five minutes later, at 03:05:29 UTC, LaLota questioned the stance of today's Democratic Party regarding historical trade policies compared to recent ones. He asked in his tweet, "Would today’s Democrat party oppose FDR’s reciprocal tariffs like they oppose Trump’s?"

At 03:15:01 UTC on the same day, Congressman LaLota acknowledged a significant decrease in border crossings during February. He noted that "Border Crossings are at an all time low in Feb— with the number of migrants apprehended falling to 8,300, down 94% from the 140,641 encountered a year prior." He concluded this statement by thanking President Biden.
