The University Orchestra is set to perform at the Staller Center for the Arts on April 29, starting at 7:30 pm. The performance, conducted by Susan Deaver, includes a repertoire featuring various classical pieces. Highlights include Dukas’ "La Peri" fanfare for brass, Chadwick’s "Jubilee" from "Symphonic Sketches," Lovreglio’s "Fantasia da Concerto on themes from La Traviata," and Holst’s "The Planets," specifically the movements Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter.
Maximo Flores, a clarinetist and winner of the Undergraduate Concerto Competition, will be the featured soloist. Flores, a native of Long Island, will perform in "Fantasia da Concerto."
