The 7 Fingers, an innovative performance group known for blending various artistic disciplines, will present their show "Duel Reality" at the Staller Center on April 11 and 12, both at 8 pm. This event combines elements of circus, theater, illusion, music, and dance, creating a dynamic and engaging performance. The storyline draws inspiration from Romeo and Juliet, featuring two feuding families and a pair of lovers striving to transcend their circumstances.

Shana Carroll, a co-founding artistic director of The 7 Fingers, shared insights into the production on the Staller Center's Backstage blog. She emphasized the unique integration of circus and theater, as well as the themes of community that resonate throughout the show. Carroll explained, “What I like about this show is that it’s built like a competition and a battle, but by the end when it resolves, we realize that the interdependent language has been woven throughout the whole time.” She continued, “The message of community isn’t just a statement, it’s actually visceral, because we’re watching people put their lives in each other’s hands.”

The 7 Fingers was founded in Quebec by a group of seven artists. Carroll reflected on the company’s journey, their ambition to create a novel hybrid art form, and the importance of trust and interdependence in their performances.

Performances will be held over two nights, offering audiences the chance to experience the group's unique storytelling and visual spectacle. Tickets for the show are available for purchase.
