The William Floyd Elementary School community recently rallied to support childhood cancer research. In their second annual "Brave the Shave" event, the school's administrators, faculty, staff, and students came together to raise funds for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation by shaving their heads voluntarily.
During the assembly, students were also given the chance to dye their hair green, have their hair braided with green ribbons, or get green hair extensions as symbols of support. The event, led by Dr. Keith Fasciana, Principal of William Floyd Elementary, was a joint effort by the school community and the CTE Barbering and Cosmetology Academies.
Dr. Fasciana expressed special thanks to all involved, noting the importance of contributions from those who participated or donated to the cause. The initiative succeeded in generating nearly $2,000 in support of childhood cancer research.
The William Floyd community's efforts reflect a strong commitment to this cause, showing solidarity through participation and fundraising.
