Congressman Nick LaLota, representing New York’s 1st District, shared his views on contemporary issues through social media on April 18 and 19, 2025. Born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978, LaLota currently resides in Amityville and has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Lee Zeldin.

On April 18, 2025, Congressman LaLota expressed concern over a bill proposed in Albany that he believes would endanger public safety. He stated, "A dangerous Albany bill would limit Police from making routine traffic stops—putting Long Islanders at risk. These stops help catch dangerous criminals. We must empower Law Enforcement and put public safety first."

In another post on April 18, 2025, LaLota emphasized his commitment to maintaining support for 9/11 survivors. Referring specifically to an individual named James Schneider, he remarked, “Never Forget” means keeping our promise to 9/11 survivors like James Schneider. I’m working with the Trump Admin to ensure continuity of the World Trade Center Health Program — a vital lifeline for survivors, responders, and families."

On April 19, 2025, LaLota addressed the issue of state taxes, particularly advocating for more State and Local Tax (SALT) relief for families in Suffolk. He urged action from state Democrats, saying, "Fighting for more SALT relief for Suffolk families—but Albany Democrats must help by reining in the crushing taxes that make NY the 2nd highest-taxed state."

Nick LaLota continues to address issues relevant to his constituents, demonstrating his focus on matters such as public safety, support for 9/11 survivors, and tax relief.
