The career path of Samuel Henriquez Jr. was initially straightforward, aimed at completing an associate’s degree, transferring to a four-year college for an engineering degree, and eventually becoming an engineer. This changed when he encountered a flyer at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, New York. The flyer advertised the Community College Internships (CCI) program offered by the Department of Energy's Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists.

Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley have reported the completion of two paving projects in the Ronkonkoma and Holbrook areas. The first project involved resurfacing Ackerly Lane, stretching from Portion Road in Ronkonkoma to Patchogue Holbrook Road in Holbrook. This project included inspections, drain installations, and the repair or replacement of damaged concrete curbing and aprons, with a total cost of $221,000.

Port Jefferson couple sentenced for fatal stabbing incident
