Jaclyn Cooper, Clinical Director at Babylon Dental Care, stated that Invisalign has significantly enhanced the field of cosmetic dentistry.
"One of our main goals revolves around Invisalign," said Cooper. "We're continuously learning about its [invisaligns] ability to open the airway and widen the arches. This offers numerous benefits beyond cosmetic improvements—it enhances functionality, particularly in terms of breathing and addressing related disorders. Invisalign has been a revolution in cosmetic dentistry."
Invisalign, a clear aligner system introduced in 1997, has transformed the landscape of cosmetic dentistry by offering a discreet alternative to metal braces using transparent, removable aligners. According to Forbes Health, this innovation has made orthodontic treatment more acceptable, especially to adults who prefer less visible options.

Cooper noted that Invisalign has become increasingly popular and commercialized over the years. "There are also different brands emerging. Previously, it was limited in terms of what it could treat. Consequently, many adult patients had no choice but to opt for traditional braces," she said. "Invisalign has been a revolution in cosmetic dentistry. With advancements in technology, science, and education, Invisalign can now treat a much wider range of issues. This makes it a more attractive option for adult patients, who are increasingly choosing it over traditional braces."
According to the National Library of Medicine, the technological advancements behind Invisalign extend beyond mere aesthetics. Using 3D imaging technology, Invisalign aligners are custom-made and updated every one to two weeks, ensuring precise and efficient teeth alignment. The removable nature of the aligners also improves oral hygiene compared to traditional braces.
Cooper explained that most people change their clear aligners every two weeks. "These are worn in the mouth and gradually move teeth by millimeters over time," she said. "They're quite impressive! You're advised to wear them for 23 out of 24 hours each day, removing them only for eating, drinking, brushing your teeth, and other essential tasks."
According to the Babylon Dental Care website, Cooper has been in practice for over 13 years. Her main focus is ensuring that the clinical team thrives by working with doctors and hygienist assistants within the organization and making sure that patients consistently receive the best possible care.
