New York State Assemblyman Keith P. Brown (R,C-Northport) has been selected as the 2025 Grand Marshal of the Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade by the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 4 John F. Kennedy. The decision was made at a recent meeting in Huntington.

The Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Long Island’s oldest and largest parade, has been organized and funded by the Huntington Ancient Order of Hibernians since 1930. Brown, a former Hibernian of the Year in 1997 and an active member, expressed his enthusiasm for this honor. “No words can adequately describe how thrilled I am,” said Brown. “I am so humbled and honored. I have been a member for three decades, and it’s been a lifelong dream to one day lead the parade down New York Avenue.”

Brown also reflected on his family's legacy with the parade: “My dad ran the parade for 25 years as President of Division 4 and was the Grand Marshal in 1978. I am very proud to carry on this wonderful tradition.”

Brown will be the fifth New York State Assemblyman from the Huntington area to serve as Grand Marshal, following Hon. John G. McCarthy (1969), Hon. John Flanagan, Sr. (1974), Hon. Regis B. O’Neil, Jr. (1998), and Hon. John Flanagan, Jr. (2003). He is also part of the fourth father-son duo to be selected as Grand Marshal.

“I want to thank my fellow brothers for bestowing this incredible honor upon me and to my family for always supporting me,” added Brown.

Matthew White, President of the Huntington Ancient Order of Hibernians, commented on Brown's selection: “I am pleased with the selection of Keith Brown as Grand Marshal of our 91st St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Through his service to our community and his commitment to his heritage and faith, Keith embodies the very best of the Hibernians.”

The Grand Marshal’s Ball is scheduled for Friday, March 7, 2025 at Oheka Castle, while the 91st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will commence on Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m., starting from the Long Island Rail Road Commuter Parking Lot on New York Avenue to the Church of St. Patrick on Main Street in Huntington.
