In a tweet dated April 16, 2025, Congressman LaLota notified his constituents about the upcoming enforcement of the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025. He emphasized the necessity of having a REAL ID or an approved form of identification for domestic flights and access to federal buildings, advising individuals to verify their IDs in preparation for the change.
On April 17, 2025, Congressman LaLota highlighted the U.S.'s economic progress, noting the addition of 228,000 jobs in March 2025, which surpassed expectations and marked significant growth compared to the earlier months of the year. He attributed this to effective governance, stating, “When we get government right, American workers and families thrive.”
In another post on April 17, 2025, LaLota commended Heng Ye, a student at Smithtown High School West and winner of the Congressional App Challenge. LaLota praised Ye's M7 Train Simulator project, underscoring Long Island's role as a center for innovation and expressing optimism about future generations.
Nick LaLota, 44, was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978, and currently resides in Amityville. He has been serving in Congress since replacing former member Lee Zeldin in 2023.
