Town Clerk Kevin LaValle and Councilman Michael Loguercio recently visited Longwood Estate in Ridge for an episode of "Talking History with the Town Clerk." They were accompanied by Longwood Estate Director Diane Shwindt and Town Historian Barbara Russell, who shared insights about the historic landmark.

During their visit, LaValle and Loguercio participated in a segment on traditional bread baking with Cassandra St. George. The Longwood Estate, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was owned by the Smith family until 1968. The Town of Brookhaven acquired it in 1974, and it now hosts various activities for residents.

For more information about the estate or to learn about other historic sites in Brookhaven, visit the Town website. Additional details about Town Clerk Kevin LaValle can be found on Instagram at @kevinjlavalle or Facebook under Town Clerk Kevin J. LaValle.
