Huntington Hospital has been recognized as a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). Additionally, Dr. William M. Martin has achieved Master Surgeon status in Hernia Surgery from the same organization.

These certifications highlight the hospital's and Dr. Martin's commitment to high standards in patient care, surgical skill, and successful outcomes in hernia surgery. The SRC's evaluation process includes a thorough review of clinical practices, safety protocols, and surgical results.

"This achievement reflects Huntington Hospital’s mission to provide world-class care close to home," stated Nick Fitterman, MD, president of Huntington Hospital, part of Northwell Health. "We are incredibly proud of our team’s commitment to surgical excellence and patient-centered care."

Hernias affect millions each year and require precise surgery for optimal outcomes. The COEHS designation indicates that Huntington Hospital provides advanced techniques and comprehensive care before and after surgery with a focus on patients.

"As a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery, Huntington Hospital has demonstrated its dedication to delivering high-quality care," said Dr. Martin. "Achieving this recognition, alongside earning Master Surgeon status, is a testament to the collaboration and expertise of our entire surgical team."

The SRC is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that certifies healthcare facilities and professionals. Their certification assures patients that they receive care meeting or exceeding stringent standards.
