Recently, Supervisor Dan Panico attended a gathering at Porter's restaurant in Bellport Village to express gratitude to the North Bellport Land Use Planning Committee. The committee has been instrumental in submitting proposals for the allocation of $4.5 million from New York State, aimed at revitalizing North Bellport.

North Bellport is one of two Long Island communities that received funding through the NY Forward initiative. This financial support will facilitate significant investments in the downtown area, focusing on Montauk Highway and the Bellport Train Station. Community involvement is crucial to ensure that proposed plans and projects align with local needs. The Local Planning Committee (LPC) leads the NYF planning process with substantial assistance from state officials and consultants.

Supervisor Dan Panico stated, “I remain deeply committed to improving the lives of the people of North Bellport and will work to see the much sought after downtown redevelopment come to fruition. This dinner was simply a gesture of heartfelt thanks, and as we dined, we spoke about the future and came to know each other on a more personal level. It was a beautiful evening together and was enjoyed by all.”

Councilman Loguercio, who is also part of the Land Use Planning Committee, remarked, “When I was first elected, former Supervisor Romaine and I pledged to revitalize the Montauk Highway corridor in Bellport. I am extremely pleased to have Supervisor Panico as a partner in this project, and we are both very grateful to those on the committee and the community members for joining us while we all work together to make this a reality!”
