Assemblyman Joe DeStefano has introduced a resolution to designate February as Library Lovers Month. The resolution emphasizes the vital role libraries play in providing free access to books, digital resources, and learning opportunities. It highlights how libraries empower individuals to achieve academic and personal goals while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

"Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books—they are gateways to knowledge, inspiration and personal growth," said DeStefano. "They provide critical resources that help individuals and families succeed, offering opportunities for education, exploration and community connection."

Libraries offer more than extensive collections; they inspire curiosity and imagination. Their quiet atmospheres encourage reflection and storytelling, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in literature, explore new ideas, and engage in intellectual discussions. Libraries also strengthen communities by offering diverse programs for all ages, from story-time sessions for toddlers to skill-building workshops for adults.
