The Stony Brook Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is set to hold its annual symposium on April 11. The event provides an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to engage in discussions about teaching pedagogy.
This marks the third year that CELT, operating under the Office of the Provost, has organized this symposium. Its purpose is to spotlight various teaching methodologies and assist faculty interested in incorporating new techniques into their classrooms.
“Across the university, our faculty and instructors care deeply about the quality of their instruction and their students’ classroom experiences,” said Rose Tirotta-Esposito, CELT director. “Yet we know that it can be challenging for our faculty to find the time to go to conferences off-campus about teaching and learning. With this symposium, CELT is able to bring those kinds of conversations and experts to campus, give our campus experts an opportunity to share, and give our community a chance to explore different methodologies and engage with each other.”
While attendance at the event is free, registration is encouraged. It will take place at the Student Activities Center in Ballroom A.
