Nick LaLota, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 1st district since 2023, has shared his views on various political and economic issues through a series of tweets. LaLota, who succeeded Lee Zeldin in Congress, is known for his active engagement on social media platforms.

On March 5, 2025, LaLota expressed confidence in former President Donald Trump's economic policies. He stated that "Trump’s first-term economic policies drove record-low unemployment, low inflation, soaring retirement accounts, and a 68% surge in the S&P 500." He further conveyed optimism about Trump's approach to the economy in 2025 and its potential benefits for Long Island's manufacturers.

In another tweet posted on the same day, LaLota discussed the role of foreign aid as part of U.S. soft power overseas. He noted that "WHEN USED PROPERLY, foreign aid is an important part of US soft power overseas..." However, he criticized certain DEI programs supported by USAID as being wasteful and not advancing national interests.

Additionally, LaLota commented on gender-related sports policies by supporting Trump's initiative to exclude men from girls' sports. On March 5th he tweeted that "Trump’s move to get men out of girls’ sports is right." He also mentioned disagreement with Democrats over this measure.
