On October 24, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilman Neil Foley participated in a "3-on-3 Basketball Tournament" at William Floyd High School Gymnasium in Mastic Beach. The event was organized by the Brookhaven Town Youth Bureau and featured local teens aged 13 to 17.

The tournament included several basketball games, along with refreshments, prizes, and a raffle. In a notable moment during the event, the winner of a new bicycle chose to give it to another teen who needed one.

The evening saw participation from various members of the community, including officers from the Suffolk County Police 7th Precinct in Shirley. The event received support from several organizations such as the Brookhaven Town Public Safety team, Mastic Ambulance Volunteer Company, William Floyd School Board, and local community members. Entertainment was provided by Party 105.3.
