Each year, reckless hit-and-run drivers claim too many lives. In response, Senator Murray has introduced "Nick's Law" (S.3639) in the New York State Senate. The legislation is named after Nick Puzio, who tragically died after being struck by two drivers who fled the scene.

The proposed bill aims to elevate the crime of a hit-and-run resulting in death to a Class B felony, which could lead to up to 25 years in prison. Senator Murray stated that Nick's Law seeks to reduce fatalities by imposing higher penalties and fines on those responsible for such tragic incidents.

Senator Murray encourages the public to support this initiative by signing a petition advocating for the bill's passage. "Together, we can advocate for the passage of this bill and keep our communities safe," said Senator Murray.
